Ivory Coast demonstrates Belarusian-made Kaiman armored cars

The military of Cote d`Ivoire its new Belarusian-made Kaiman (Caiman) 4x4 armored cars during a military parade dedicated to the 58th anniversary of the country`s independence, according to local media outlets.

Russian military vehicles to be equipped with GLONASS satellite navigation system

All automobiles of the Russian Defense Ministry will be equipped with GLONASS satellite navigation system integrated into the Inspector-VAI traffic control. It will allow monitoring all military vehicles online, the Izvestia daily said.

South Korea: ministry to harness cutting edge technologies to enhance military logistics

South Korea's defense ministry on 8 August announced a plan to capitalize on big data, 3-D printing, drones and other cutting-edge technologies to strengthen the military's logistical support capabilities.
"So as to expand logistical support capabilities and efficiency, the defense ministry plans to preemptively adopt technologies related to the fourth industrial revolution," the ministry said in a press release, referring to the fast-paced industrial transformation marked by the convergence of new technologies (Illustration: RAND Corp.)

Saab lands new self-protection systems order for HAL Dhruv helicopter

Saab has received a follow-on order from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the IDAS-2 self-protection suite for the Indian Army’s Dhruv helicopter. The order amounts to approximately MSEK 350 (USD 39 million). Read more

Russia plans to upgrade five Il-22M11 airborne command posts

The Russian Defense Ministry plans to upgrade five Il-22M11 aircraft to become multirole air command posts, the Izvestia daily said. The aircraft will get a retransmitting hub integrated with ground and air automatic control systems. The work is to be done by 2021 and the total cost will exceed 1.6 bln ruble (USD 25 million). First Tu-22M3M bomber set for maiden flight

The first modernized Tu-22M3M long-range bomber got totally new on-board equipment after renovation. The air frame and some aircraft systems are the only things left from the previous aircraft, Alexander Konyukhov, director-general of the Tupolev aerospace and defense company, told TASS. Read more
